Puli sets new record..................

Power star Pawan Kalyan has shown his ‘power’ again. After the stupendous musical success of Jalsa, there is an unprecedented craze about Pawan’s current film Puli Expectedly, Pawan has set new record in the market of audio rights. According to Telugucinema.com sources, Sony BMG is bidding for the Puli’s audio rights for a whopping Rs 2.5 Crorers. At a time when the audio market is in down, the quote is unheard of.

Then what made Sony BMG to offer such a huge rate? Well, it is simple logic. In the recent times, no film other than the Pawan Kalyan’s Jalsa made huge profits through audio sales. In the age of piracy and online-downloading, market for audio sales is virtually vanished. Yet, Jalsa set new record in sales and brought huge profits to Aditya Music Company, the audio company. Jalsa is the only movie in Telugu that earned about Rs 1.5 Crores with mobile ringtones. So such calculations made Sony BMG to quote the price of Rs 2 Crores. Plus there is the deadly combination of Pawan Kalyan and S J Surya (remember their musical hit Khusi?). With A R Rehman scoring the music, the audio company has all the advantages.

Sony BMB is renowned international label in audio business but is a relatively new entrant in A.P. It remains to be seen whether this deal will really work through.

Romance With King

Nagarjuna is 'king' of romance in Tollywood. He is Manmadhudu of Telugu screen. Ge might have come of age, but his charm with the fair sex still seems unbroken. Probably that is why the handsome hero is all set to romance with not just one or two but about 9 to 10 damsels for his current film. Yes, director Sreenu Vytla is planning a special song for his current movie with Nagarjuna, King, like the super hit song of SRK’s Om Shanti Om.

Unlike Om Shanti Om, this song in King will have only about 10 heroines shaking leg with Nagarjuna. The film already has three heroines - Trisha (main lead), Mamta Mohandas (second lead) and Madhushalini (in small role). Now another 5, 6 heroines are being roped in for this special song. Altogether 10 glam girls will be romancing King.

King in Bangkok

Currently, King’s shooting is going on in Bangkok despite the turmoil in that nation. The unit will be coming back to India later this week. The film is scheduled for Decemer 18 release.

Dusky beauty Sonia who wowed the audiences with her cool and ebullient looks in Happy Days and recently released Vinayakudu is getting good offers. She is receiving praise from all quarters. Sonia, the Hyderabad born Telugu girl, also is being introduced to Tamil screen with the remake of Happy Days. She is the only actor from the Telugu version to be repeated in the Tamil version which is being directed by cameraman Guhan (who did splendid work for Athadu).

Basking on the success of Vinayakudu, the sexy actress says she will not expose her body on screen. “People tend to mix the word ‘glamour’ with ‘skinshow’. I am, at this moment, is not interested in ‘exposing’. I am not even comfortable at showing off my midriff,” she tells us.

Charmme to play heroine in Manjula’s banner

There is no need for a special mention that Manjula, daughter of Super Star Krishna, introduced herself as an artiste and producer with ‘Show’ and later turned a producer for ‘Naani’ with Maheshbabu as hero. However, the film failed to prove a commercial hit. In order to give a hit to Maheshbabu, again she joined hands with Puri Jagannath and brought out ‘Pokiri’, which proved as a blockbuster and achieved what she wanted. Now, she is planning a film in association with Super Good Films again with Maheshbabu as hero. However, Maheshbabu could not adjust the dates for the movie and the film is going to delay further. In order to make use of the idle time, Manjula planned another small budget film in the middle and Charmme was selected as heroine for the movie, it is reliably learnt. The film would be another heroine-centric movie and according to information, the film is likely to go to sets in October.

Finally, Mahesh Babu’s film is all set to go to the sets in October. Director Trivikram has just recently finished a special photoshoot on the film’s lead pair – Mahesh and Parvathi Melton. Mahesh’s wife Namrata is overseeing the pre-production work; she has created new look and designs for her husband in the movie.

Currently a fashion designer in consultation with Namrata is giving final touch to the dresses and the look of the superstar. Parvati will also be having special designer wear in this movie. Parvati is the main heroine while Tamanna plays equal role but hers will be, technically, the second lead.

Produced by S Ramesh, the movie is a romantic action drama and it is not going to be titled Varudu (earlier it was considered for the movie). A new title is currently being discussed.
